On our trip to Lewes, my sister and I had a very pleasant stay at the Inn at Canal Square. The accommodations were clean and the style of the building reminded me of inns all over Cape Cod.

We had a second floor suite with two queen beds and a balcony. We saw mostly hedges from our view rather than the canal, but it was still perfect setting for enjoying my morning coffee.

A few more notes about the Inn at Canal Square in Lewes: the property has plenty of parking. I asked about parking prior to check-in and the gentleman at the front desk was very accommodating. We were also able to leave our cars parked in the morning after we checked out: it was so convenient to avoid meter parking. The Inn also has a complimentary European-style breakfast that is served daily from 8:00 AM-10:00 AM. We didn’t partake this time, but I plan to give it a try next time I stay.
I also wanted to note that the staff was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. They were knowledgeable about the area and very friendly. The gentleman at the front desk even allowed us to check in early on the day that we arrived. We also noticed that the housekeeping and maintenance staff was constantly busy with upkeep around the inn. It was refreshing to see the staff taking such pride in their work.
There was also a park across the street with beautiful flowers and landscaping. Enjoy the pictures below and learn a little about the history of Lewes, DE.
